Tata Power Installs 60 MWh Battery Storage in Mumbai
Tata Power has installed 60 megawatt-hour battery storage systems at three key locations in Mumbai—Mahalaxmi, Saki, and Mankhurd—to enhance power supply and grid resilience. This is part of a larger plan to deploy 200 MWh of battery energy storage across 10 sites after approval from Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission in April 2025. The systems store electricity during low-cost solar hours and supply it during peak demand, optimizing costs and reducing reliance on expensive peak-hour power.
