Tanker with 27 Indians Hit by Limpet Mines in Strait of Hormuz

A Panama-flagged crude oil tanker, MT LOUISE 1, carrying 27 Indian crew members was attacked with limpet mines in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire in its engine room. The crew extinguished the fire and resumed operations. The incident occurred 46 km northeast of Khasab, Oman, with no environmental damage reported. All crew members are safe. This is the first successful limpet mine attack in the area since February.
