Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Q2 Net Profit Rises 42% to ₹451 Crore

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank reported a record quarterly net profit of ₹451.14 crore in Q2 FY27, a 42% increase year-on-year. Net interest income rose to ₹807 crore, boosting operating profit to ₹642 crore. Return on assets hit 2.18%, and return on equity reached 16.92%. Total business grew 27% to ₹1.3 trillion. The bank has provisioned ₹304 crore against expected credit loss of ₹385 crore, covering 80% of the requirement.
