Tamil Nadu to Sell Parboiled Rice at ₹30 per kg via Amudham, Cooperatives

The Tamil Nadu government will sell parboiled rice at ₹30 per kg through 211 cooperative stores and 49 Amudham departmental outlets to ease food inflation and stabilize prices. Minister P. Venkataramanan stated the price hike was due to supply shortages from Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka and some traders charging higher rates. Currently, parboiled rice sells at ₹60 per kg in the open market.
