Tamil Nadu Sees Major Rainfall Improvement in 27 Days
Tamil Nadu's rainfall deficit has significantly improved, with 18 of 23 previously deficient districts moving to normal or excess rainfall categories since October began. By October 27, only five districts remained deficient. The state's cumulative rainfall deficit dropped from 16% at the end of September to less than 1%, driven by heavy rainfall during the early Northeast monsoon. From October 1-27, the state recorded 217.2 mm of rain, 51% above normal.
