In Tamil Nadu, political controversy intensified over the special revision of the voter list. During an all-party meeting called by the Election Commission on Friday, ruling TVK and main opposition DMK, among others, walked out protesting alleged wrongful removal of many voters' names in the previous Special Intensive Revision (SIR). They demanded Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's resignation, accusing the commission of lacking transparency. AIADMK and BJP representatives attended the meeting chaired by Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik.
