PoliticsTaiwan Receives First US-Made F-16V Jets Amid China Tensions
Taiwan received its first two US-made F-16V fighter jets as part of an $8 billion deal approved during Donald Trump's presidency. The jets arrived at Taitung air base amid rising tensions with China, which claims Taiwan as its territory. Taiwan is also awaiting approval for a separate $14 billion arms package paused due to Chinese objections. The aircraft were manufactured by Lockheed Martin and made refueling stops in Hawaii and Guam.
