PoliticsSupreme Court Warns Against Closing 57 Delhi Metro Stations Ahead of Protest
Ahead of the October 10 protest in Delhi, the Supreme Court expressed concern over plans to close metro station entrances and restrict public transport. The court highlighted that fully closing metro gates could inconvenience thousands, including students, workers, and elderly commuters, especially those traveling from Gurugram and Greater Noida. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta assured the government would take appropriate steps. The court suggested finding a large alternative venue for protesters with necessary facilities and emergency access, emphasizing protesters' safety and public convenience.
