The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the death sentence of Indian Mujahideen member Ahmad Bawa, also known as Abbu Abubakar Barlewi, in the 2008 Ahmedabad bomb blasts case that killed 56 people. A bench of Justices Vikram Nath, AG Masih, and Sandeep Mehta issued notice to the Gujarat government on Bawa's petition challenging the High Court's decision upholding his death penalty.
