Supreme Court Rules Internet Is a Fundamental Right for Children
The Supreme Court of India declared internet access a fundamental right and rejected a complete ban on children's internet use. It called keeping children away from the internet unreasonable and urged the creation of a database to remove child sexual abuse content. The court also sought responses from the central government and NCPCR regarding child safety on social media, amid proposals to ban under-18s from creating social media accounts.
