The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain Sukesh Chandrasekhar's plea seeking a stay on his conviction. Chandrasekhar was convicted by a Delhi court on August 20 for impersonating a Supreme Court judge to influence bail in a 2017 corruption case and sentenced to eight years on August 29. The Delhi High Court had earlier dismissed his plea for a stay, stating the appeal against conviction was pending and should be heard by the appellate court.
