The Supreme Court clarified that its polite requests to courts or tribunals must be treated as binding directions, not as signs of weakness. The bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and K Vinod Chandran criticized the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) for not hearing a case by the requested date of July 23, 2026. The court demanded an explanation for the delay in hearing a Section 7 Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code matter.
