The Supreme Court has resolved a decades-old electricity dispute between Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh related to Bhakra-Beas Management Board projects. Punjab and Haryana must supply Himachal Pradesh 11,973 million units of electricity over the next 20 years instead of cash payment. The court accepted the central government's proposal, calculating dues from 1966. Himachal's share was fixed at 7.19% in a 2011 ruling.
