Supreme Court Issues Notice to KPCC Over Post on CJI Surya Kant
On November 6, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) regarding a social media post critical of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. The court, led by Justice Aravind Kumar, asked KPCC to explain why it should not be punished for contempt under Article 129. An amicus curiae and the Attorney General's assistance will be involved. The post, deleted later, had challenged the CJI's remarks on police restrictions during protests in Delhi.
