Supreme Court Halts Andhra Pradesh Urban Body Elections

The Supreme Court has temporarily halted elections for 100 urban local bodies in Andhra Pradesh, including 13 municipal corporations and 87 municipalities and town panchayats. The YSR Congress Party alleged attacks and intimidation against its candidates during nominations. The court directed the State Election Commission not to release the final candidate list by October 25 and to consider extending the nomination deadline based on district administration reports.
