The Supreme Court ruled that a plaint can be rejected under Order VII Rule 11 of the Civil Procedure Code at any stage, including before its registration, if reasons are duly recorded. Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and Atul S Chandurkar emphasized that such rejection is akin to a decree and must be documented to ensure procedural fairness.
