Sun Pharma Ordered to Halt Eye-Drop Production at Assam Plant

Indian drug regulators have directed Sun Pharmaceutical Industries to stop manufacturing, selling, and distributing ophthalmic products from its Assam facility due to significant quality management deficiencies. The order followed a joint inspection by central and state regulators on August 20. Sun Pharma had voluntarily recalled 11 eye-care brands and all ophthalmic products from the plant in July as a precaution. Regulators are also seeking information on 332 batches of recalled products.
