Sun Pharma Ordered to Halt Eye Drop Production at Assam Plant

Indian drug regulators have ordered Sun Pharmaceutical Industries to immediately stop manufacturing, selling, and distributing eye medications at its Assam plant due to serious quality management deficiencies. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization and Assam drug controller inspected the plant in August, finding multiple critical issues. Sun Pharma recalled 332 batches of eye drops from 11 brands in July after adverse infection reports in some patients.
