HealthStudy Links Sugary Drinks to Higher Stomach Cancer Risk
A 2026 study published in Gastro Hep Advances tracked over 112,000 participants for more than 3.2 million person-years to examine the link between sugary drinks and stomach cancer. The research found that people consuming more than one sugar-sweetened beverage daily had 2.45 times higher incidence of gastric cancer. Cancer specialist Dr. Rupjyoti Sarma highlighted the study's implications for beverage choices.
