Study Finds Indirect Aggression Common in Indian X Conversations on Sports and Politics

Researchers from Goa Institute of Management and Goa Business School analyzed over 131,000 posts on social media platform X using machine learning to study aggression patterns. Their study found that indirect aggression is most common during major social, financial, sporting, and political events in India. Posts were classified as overtly aggressive, covertly aggressive, or non-aggressive, with overt aggression ranging from 11% to 37%. The findings were published in the journal Advances in Consumer Research.
