ScienceStudy Finds E-Tractors Cut Per Acre Energy Costs by 64-84%
A study by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) reveals that e-tractors reduce per acre energy costs by 64-84% compared to diesel tractors. Based on pilot studies and assuming diesel at Rs 88/litre and electricity at Rs 6/kWh, the research highlights significant fuel savings and lower emissions amid nearly 10 lakh tractors registered annually in India. E-tractors showed the greatest financial benefits in high-load farming operations.
