Study Finds Antarctica's Glacier Cliffs Retreat Then Stabilize
A recent study analyzing over 15,000 satellite images shows Antarctica's glaciers are retreating faster than previously predicted. Scientists found that although some ice cliffs initially retreated rapidly, they later stabilized instead of collapsing entirely. The stability of these glaciers is influenced by factors such as water depth and the shape of the bedrock beneath them, making long-term collapse less certain.
