Studies Show Competent Women Face Hostility and Less Support at Work
Research involving 432 US business students and 394 Chinese finance workers found that women who scored higher on cognitive tests were perceived as more hostile by teammates and received less help. This pattern was not observed for men. The findings highlight societal pressures that cause competent women to be seen as aggressive, limiting their leadership opportunities.
