Students Win $10,000 for CPRight Patch Guiding CPR Rescuers
Four University of Washington students created CPRight, a wallet-sized patch with LED lights that guide rescuers during CPR by providing real-time feedback on chest compression depth and rate. This device requires no extra equipment. Their invention won the $10,000 undergraduate first prize at the 2026 Collegiate Inventors Competition, which also honored innovations in cancer treatment, rehabilitation, and neurological monitoring.
