Stage III GRAP Imposed in Delhi-NCR as AQI Nears Severe Levels Before Diwali
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) has invoked Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) across Delhi and the National Capital Region due to worsening air quality. Delhi's average AQI rose above 380, nearing the 'severe' threshold of 401. Forecasts predict severe pollution during Diwali from November 7 to 9, with 26 of 58 monitoring stations already recording 'severe' AQI levels. Stage III curbs include halting non-essential construction and mining activities.
