Sri Lanka Has No Immediate Plans to Aid Iranian Ships Near Its Waters
Sri Lanka's government announced it has no immediate plans to assist 19 Iranian ships anchored in international waters near the island, which face shortages of food, water, and fuel. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Thushara Rodrigo emphasized prioritizing national interests and noted no U.S. warnings about sanctions if Sri Lanka offers help. The ships are 24 nautical miles off Sri Lanka's coast. The Iranian Embassy has no details on the situation.
