Spain Train Crash Killed 68 Due to Glitch and Operator Errors
A technical glitch and three operator errors at Madrid's Atocha railway control centre caused a deadly collision between two high-speed trains in Spain, killing 68 people. The LZB train control system failed on a 69-km track, stopping trains including an Iryo and a Renfe AVE. The control centre wrongly instructed the AVE train to proceed at normal speed, leading to the crash near Urda at 8:53am.
