South India's hospitality sector is increasingly challenged by erratic monsoons, extreme weather, and rising temperatures, affecting tourism seasons and hotel revenues. In 2025-26, weather disasters damaged nearly 19,000 houses in Karnataka, 6,400 in Kerala, and 3,800 in Andhra Pradesh. Flooding at Andhra Pradesh's Bhavani Island caused Rs 1.8 crore in lost tourism revenue. Hotels must adopt flexible pricing, emergency preparedness, water conservation, and energy efficiency to adapt to climate risks, says Kanav Mata of EHL.
