Sonam Wangchuk Demands Ladakh Violence Inquiry Report Release

A year after the 2023 Ladakh violence that left four dead and led to Sonam Wangchuk's detention under the National Security Act, the activist has demanded the release of the judicial inquiry report. Headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice B S Chauhan, the inquiry should clarify the police firing on September 24, 2023, and assess if crowd-control measures were exhausted before live ammunition was used. Wangchuk also called for higher victim compensation and accountability for state power misuse.
