Solar-Powered Hanging Fences Installed to Curb Wild Animal Menace in Kozhikode
Installation of solar-powered hanging fences has started in Chakkittappara panchayat, Kozhikode district, Kerala, to prevent wild animals like elephants, boars, and monkeys from entering human settlements and damaging crops. Initial work began at Randamcheeli in Poozhithode, covering vulnerable areas in Poozhithode, Chempanoda, and Alambara. This is part of a Forest Department project to fence 64 km of forest borders in Kozhikode.
