BusinessSMT Energy Secures $268 Million from Climate Adaptive Infrastructure
SMT Energy, a developer and operator of battery energy storage projects, has secured up to $268 million in equity investment from Climate Adaptive Infrastructure (CAI) at the parent-company level. This funding will support the development, construction, and operation of SMT Energy’s battery storage projects across the U.S. The investment builds on a previous $32 million CAI deployed into SMT Energy assets. Co-CEO JJ Switzer highlighted that the partnership will help expand SMT Energy’s platform.
