Six-Member SIT Formed to Probe Kolkata Chorbagan Stampede

The West Bengal government has formed a six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the stampede at the Chorbagan Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata on October 17, which resulted in 19 deaths. Retired Calcutta High Court judge Justice Anindita Roy Saraswati will head the SIT. The team must submit a detailed report within 90 days. Kolkata Police and KMC officials are excluded to ensure impartiality.
