Janarthanan Tamil Kovan, a 42-year-old Indian IT vendor working with Singapore's State Courts, was sentenced to 28 weeks in jail for compromising the safety of over 18,000 government files. He pleaded guilty to charges under the Official Secrets Act for endangering court and government documents and unlawfully modifying a government-issued laptop. No files were transferred during unauthorized remote access granted to an acquaintance.
