BusinessShyam Metalics to Invest $5.19 Billion in Maharashtra Steel Plant
Shyam Metalics and Energy has signed a deal with the Maharashtra government to invest 500 billion rupees ($5.19 billion) to build a 9 million-metric-tonnes-per-year steel plant in Chandrapur, Vidarbha region. The project aims to create 30,000 jobs, including 10,000 direct and 20,000 indirect roles. Operations are expected to start this financial year, pending approvals.
