BusinessSensex rises 500 points, Nifty up 150 led by HDFC Bank, RIL
The Indian stock market opened higher with Sensex rising 500 points to 72,402 and Nifty gaining 150 points to 22,564. Bank Nifty also surged to an intraday high of 55,192. Shares of HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Bajaj Finance, and others gained, while Avenue Supermarts, TVS Motor, Apollo Hospitals, and Infosys declined. Softer U.S. jobs data eased Fed tightening concerns, but high Treasury yields and geopolitical risks kept investors cautious. Crude oil prices remain a key market factor.
