PoliticsSecurity Tightened in Delhi Ahead of INDIA Alliance Protest Against CEC Gyanesh Kumar
Security has been increased around central Delhi areas including Sansad Marg, Ashoka Road, and Janpath Road ahead of the third day of protests by the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Delhi Police deployed about 5,000 personnel and barricaded roads, with additional central paramilitary forces approved. The Le Meridien roundabout, a protest site, is under close watch. Police reviewed 150 body camera footages showing personnel targeted during the largely impromptu Wednesday protest. The opposition has protested since Tuesday, demanding Kumar's resignation.
