The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) announced a protest in Mumbai demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Ahead of the planned protest at Shivaji Park, authorities deployed large security forces on Friday. Police denied permission for the protest and stationed personnel at Dadar station and around central Mumbai. Barricades were set up on main routes to Shivaji Park, with police and other agencies deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. Local residents opposed the protest, citing disruption to peace and daily life.
