Sebi to Use AI for Monitoring and Delisting Inactive Firms
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) plans to use AI-based surveillance to identify and delist companies with no economic activity. This initiative aims to protect investors, particularly those in penny stocks, by addressing risks posed by inactive firms. Sebi will also soon announce compliance requirements for foreign institutional investors to enhance market regulation.
