SEBI Sets Rules for Depositary Receipts on REITs and InvITs Units
India's market regulator SEBI has introduced new rules allowing foreign investors to invest in REITs and InvITs through depositary receipts. These units must obtain approvals from both local and international exchanges and secure at least 75% unitholder consent for new offerings. Existing REITs and InvITs in India already permit foreign investments under specific regulations.
