Sebi Reverses Derivatives Closing Auction Plan Amid Market Recovery
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) reversed its plan to use the closing auction session for settling expiring stock and index derivatives. Instead, it will use volume-weighted average prices from the final 30 minutes of regular trading after trader pushback. This change aims to reduce expiry-day volatility and may benefit brokers. The decision comes as Indian markets recover, with Sensex and Nifty50 posting significant gains.
