BusinessPhoto: Mint MarketsSebi Reinstates VWAP for Derivatives Expiry After Volatility
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has withdrawn the closing auction system (CAS) introduced two months ago for settling derivatives contracts due to causing abrupt price swings and uncertainty on expiry days. Instead, Sebi will calculate closing prices using a 30-minute volume-weighted average price (VWAP) on derivatives expiry days, Tuesdays and Thursdays. This decision follows market feedback and a review of the framework.
