SEBI has recommended abolishing the long-term capital gains (LTCG) tax for foreign investors to boost the Indian stock market and attract more foreign investment. Currently, foreign investors pay 12.5% LTCG tax on shares held over a year. Separately, the Enforcement Directorate has filed a money laundering case against Subhash Chandra for alleged loan fraud of ₹1,322 crore involving LIC Housing Finance, accusing him of inflating assets and defaulting on loan repayments.
