The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) proposed changes to SME IPO regulations, replacing paid-up capital criteria with market capitalization thresholds. It plans to reduce the minimum application size to ₹1 lakh and ease offer-for-sale restrictions by institutional investors. Sebi also suggested raising the minimum average operating profit to ₹3 crore, with exceptions for established firms. Other changes include promoter lock-in, trading lots, underwriting, and market making to reduce costs and increase investor participation.
