SEBI Approves Net Settlement for Mutual Fund Trades from 2027
India's Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved net settlement for mutual fund schemes, effective April 1, 2027. This move aims to improve market efficiency and reduce funding needs. Previously limited to foreign portfolio investors, net settlement will now apply only to sales or purchases of the same security, with cross-scheme netting still prohibited.
