Scotland Restores 1854 Westfield Viaduct with Bat Roosts
Scotland's Westfield Viaduct, built in 1854-55 and located in West Lothian, underwent a £2 million restoration. The project repaired the historic stonework of the 60-foot-high structure, which once carried the Monkland Railway extension before closing in 1964. The restoration also created permanent roosting spaces for bats within the viaduct.
