Schaeffler India CEO Detained Over June Factory Accident

Harsha Gopal Kadam, CEO and Managing Director of Schaeffler India, was taken into custody on October 20 in connection with a fatal factory accident on June 9 in Talegaon, Pune. The accident involved the sudden release of carbon dioxide gas, killing two workers. The investigation now includes Kadam as the factory occupier under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Earlier, police had filed cases against six others related to the incident.
