SBI Ordered to Pay Rs 2 Lakh for Insurance Renewal Failure
A consumer commission in Aligarh directed State Bank of India to pay Rs 2 lakh to a woman after her son died because SBI failed to deduct a Rs 100 insurance renewal premium despite sufficient funds. The insurer denied the claim, citing non-receipt of premium. SBI must also pay Rs 5,000 compensation, Rs 5,000 litigation expenses, and 7% annual interest.
