Samvat 2082 Ends with Biggest Weekly Gains in Six Years Despite Annual Loss

Samvat 2082 ended strongly with Sensex and Nifty 50 posting weekly gains of 8.6-8.8%, their largest in nearly six years. However, both indices closed the year down 4% and 3.1%, marking their worst annual performance since 2011. Factors included high crude oil prices, West Asia tensions, US tariffs, inflation, and foreign selling of $31.3 billion in 2026, said HDFC Securities CEO Dhiraj Relli.
