BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra criticized the INDIA alliance's 'Jan Mahabhiyog' program by calling Jawaharlal Nehru's rise to Prime Minister in 1946 the 'first vote theft.' He highlighted that out of 15 provincial Congress committees, 12 supported Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for Congress president, but Mahatma Gandhi's choice of Nehru prevailed. Patra questioned why Patel withdrew and explained how Nehru became interim government head and India's first PM.
