The Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar faction of Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama has strongly criticized the Kerala government for reconstituting the Waqf Board without proper Sunni community representation. The government dissolved the previous board led by K S Hamsa and appointed a new nine-member board headed by IUML leader M C Mayin Haji. The faction alleges the government broke its promise to include Samastha in the reconstitution process.
